About Wes
Wes Jones is an attorney, community leader, and writer who cares deeply about people, public safety, and the Wendell community.
His private practice involved business and construction litigation at one of Raleigh’s premier law firms. While serving as a judicial clerk at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, he drafted appellate opinions regarding zoning, land use, and construction law. Always the builder, Wes helped start North Carolina’s newest law school: High Point University School of Law, and he now works as counsel supporting the North Carolina House of Representatives.
Law may be his vocation, but service truly motivates Wes. He volunteers his time as a legal counsel, chairman, and executive board member with different organizations across the state. He serves with his local church in a variety of capacities and is a former C.S. Lewis Fellow.
Beyond his professional life and service with local groups, Wes loves writing. He’s been published by various North Carolina newspapers, and you can find his first poetry collection, “A Sunday Afternoon Drive,” on Amazon. Stay tuned for a second volume, “But First, My Soul!”
